Nearly half of counselors practicing in Oregon have not been licensed.  Licensed psychologists, therapists, and counselors have passed tests required by their state boards to become licensed to practice and must continue to take a required number of continuing education units to be informed on changes within the field of behavioral health and to remain licensed.  Oregon requires more continuing education credits for psychologists to maintain their licenses than most other states.
