I hold a doctoral degree from George Fox University, where I was trained in integrating spirituality with therapy as directed by the client. I am licensed by the state of Oregon as a psychologist.
I previously practiced in community mental health and adult retirement clinics treating chronically mentally ill children, adolescents, and adults. I have treated difficult issues including depression, bipolar, seasonal affective disorder, anxiety, end of life issues, life changes, couples relationships, abuse, interpersonal violence, grief and loss, trauma, attention deficit/hyperactivity, insomnia, parenting problems, and adoption.
Before entering the behavioral health field, I was self employed in property management and also served for 14 years on three school boards in the Hillsboro, Oregon area. I also served on the board of the Oregon School Boards Association.
I am an active member of the Rotary Club of Tigard and an elder of Calvin Presbyterian Church. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Oregon Psychological Association, the Western Psychological Association, and the Christian Association of Psychological Studies.
