National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.  Provides information about medicating depression and many links to other websites.

National Mental Health Association's National Consumer Supporter Technical Assistance Center.  Provides brochures and fact sheets on depression as well as referrals for state specific resources.

Recommended Books on Depression:

Get It Done When You're Depressed by Julie A Fast and John D. Preston.  The authors offer 50 strategies to break the cycle of inactivity that so often accompanies depression.  The strategies are practical and easy to apply and can lead to a lifetime of productivity, regardless of your mood.  Julie Fast wrote this book as well as other books while she was depressed by using these strategies.

Parenting Well When You're Depressed by Joanne Nicholson, Alexis D. Henry, Jonathan C. Clayfield, and Susan M. Phillips.  Covers managing mood, wellness, and household finances, feeding yourself and your family, communicating about your depression to your children, playing with your children, and negotiationg the legal system.  An invaluable resource for parents with depression.
